We believe that knowledge can be empowering. The more we understand our bodies, medications, diseases and the mechanisms that cause harm, the more committed we become to getting better. Our office is devoted to educating you about your body, your medications/supplements/herbals, how it works and how to heal it. We believe in working with our patients and their physicians as partners to learn from each other in our journey together to maximize health.
We have 3 main guiding principles:
1. At South River, you are the boss. We’re here to help educate and guide you on your journey toward better health – but you’re in charge.
2. Our goal is optimal health, which means functioning at your highest potential for as long as possible.
3. We don’t just treat the symptoms, we’re trying to help you get to the root cause and treat it.
South River Compounding Pharmacy was established with the vision of giving patients closer, one-on-one attention and consultation than they may find at conventional pharmacies.
Pharmacists and health professionals at South River offer this personal service in several ways:
- Customized Medications – in our lab we can create – or “compound”, medications without certain allergy-producing ingredients, in special dosages or in special forms so that the patient is able to take the medicine as prescribed and get the drug’s benefit.
- Disease Management – we work in conjunction with a patient’s primary care practitioner to screen for certain conditions and diseases, and to undertake a plan of care that can include diet planning, exercise, natural vitamins or supplements, customized medications, and regular consultation with a pharmacist or health professional.
- General Consultation – many consumers and patients purchase over-the-counter products or natural vitamins and supplements without understanding the guidelines for use or possible risks. Our staff provides detailed consultation on which supplements and vitamins may be best for any given patient.
In addition to preparing customized medications to meet each individual’s specific needs, South River also offers a complete line of Nutritional Supplements and Natural Herbal Medicines.
We believe in maintaining wellness and “preventative medicine”. Therefore, we offer a number of screenings that can detect problems at an early stage, or be used to monitor therapy.
